Bill Flores Campaign: “We Are Sinking!”

Two months before election night. The Candidate Matt Mackowiak sits in front of the TV set and begins watching… suddenly you hear “Mayday! Mayday! This is the Floundering Flores Campaign. We are sinking, we are sinking!” Matt reaches over and picks up the telephone and in a heavy German accent says, “This is Matt, what are you sinking about?”

Ok, the actual video is better but the concept is the same — Matt and Bill’s Washington insider campaign crew do not have a clue about how to communicate with the voters of District 17. I hear there is talk of bringing in “big guns” to help — possibly Karl Rove — and Phil Gramm has already done his share of stumping. But until then, they keep complaining about Chet’s “negative” campaigning.

What kind of idiots work for Bill Flores?!

TEXAS 17 DOES NOT WANT THE POLITICS AS USUAL THESE MEN AND THIS WHINING REPRESENT!!!

How much clearer can we make that?

Oops, I forgot — many of the primary voters of this district voted for Bill because he supposedly had the money and connections to beat Chet.

But wait, Chet has over 2 MILLION dollars in his war chest. Bill has not raised 1 million yet and is only staying afloat by loaning money to his campaign plus his “contacts” are moderate Washington insiders.

These are not pegs to hang your hat on, but nails in the FFC coffin.

Brother Bill: Chet is aware of the fact that to retain the seat he just needs to make a good showing in Brazos County not beat you, this being a county in which he has shown exceptional strength in past elections. Chet has political experience within this district (which you and your campaign staff sadly lack). Chet knows that Waco/McLennan County is in his pocket by a large margin. You are ignoring the northern portion of the district so he is pretty safe here. Chet understands how this district thinks — not sinks — and is using that to the fullest extent. Once again, the outsiders controlling your campaign should have been aware of these facts.

This is not the Presidential election. No electoral votes. This is a popular election — every vote counts! Winning Bryan/College station does not ensure victory. Your handlers know that! They should also know Gramm is going to hurt you in Brazos County — he is not as respected there as your upper echelons may think. Ergo, Chet picks up another percentage point or two of your “home” base.

Can you afford to keep giving away votes in such a close and critical race?

I have taken a beating over the None of the Above campaign for “taking votes away from Bill and giving them to Chet” or “if you are not voting for Bill you are voting for Chet”. My belief that neither of these candidates truly represents my conservative values continues to grow.

The key word is “candidates”.

We have Chet’s record to show us not only who the candidate (a person who is running for a political office that will give the crowd what they want to secure votes) but also who the man (the heart and soul that stands on personal convictions no matter what the result) is.

With you, Bill, we have only the candidate. Many of us want to believe “Bill Flores, the man” is someone that has the same heart, soul and personal convictions of the people he wants to represent. Matt and your Washington buddies do not have tham and do not care or believe in them. Unfortunately, Matt and his buddies have created an image on which we must base our voting decision.

More nails in the coffin!

Bill, if you really do want to win this election, unstick your head and start running your campaign like the CEO of a business. Stop the crybaby act that Matt and the Washington crew are pushing. This tactic makes you appear to be a political novice, which you are, and extremely weak, which you should not be with your business success. Roll up those sleeves and get to work. Start telling your EMPLOYEES how YOU want the campaign ran and if they do not do what you say, get rid of them. Stop calling in outsiders and start showing us Bill Flores the man; the Central Texan…not the Washington hack. This is how you earn my vote.

My friend, there are less than 8 weeks until the election. If the course of this campaign does not change within the next week to ten days, I fear we have lost an excellent chance to rid this District and this Nation of one of the most liberal, socialist congressmen in history.

Mayday! Mayday! We are sinking! We are sinking…

  1. Well said! This is another reason the candidate needs to stop whinning that this is a personal attack and remind the voters that Chet has a long history of supporting legislation that has attempted to destroy jobs in the State of Texas and the United States of America.

  2. downsj says:

In 1998, when the layoffs occurred, Democrat Bill Clinton was President and Democrat Chet Edwards was his congressional enabler. I wonder how much the Democrat administration’s energy policies had to do with Baker Hughes having to let those workers go.

Since north of Waco does not count in this election I have just now gotten A link to and watched the above mentioned ad that has started the cry baby act going again.

HEY MATT/BILL–I AM NOT A LAWYER BUT THIS AD DOES NOT ACCUSE YOU OF ANYTHING MORE THAN WORKING FOR A COMPANY THAT LAID OFF OVER 3,000 EMLOYEES AND PAID UPPER MANAGEMENT MILLIONS OF DOLLARS. NO UNTRUTH THERE. GROW UP!!! YOU WANTED TO BE IN THE BIG LEAGUE SO YOU HAD BETTER GET A THICKER SKIN.

REMEMBER WHEN YOUR MOMMA SAID, “WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND!”? MY BET IS THAT CHET IS JUST WARMING UP! WHAT OTHER POLITICAL TRICKS DID YOU PULL OUT OF YOUR HAT THAT ARE GOING TO COME BACK AND HAUNT YOU?

MY ADVICE–YOU DO NOT HAVE THE TIME OR MONEY TO MESS AROUND WITH THIS TYPE OF GARBAGE. SPEND WHAT YOU HAVE ON EARNING PEOPLE’S TRUST AND VOTE NOT MAKING MORE LAWYERS RICH WITH ANOTHER FRIVALOUS LAW SUIT.
